With his club comfortably ahead and the Lightning net empty, the 28-year-old Kaprizov scored his history-making goal, his 220th, at the 16:41 mark of the third quarter. He broke a tie with Marian Gaborik for the franchise mark.
Minnesota’s Brock Faber, Mats Zuccarello and Quinn Hughes each had a goal and an assist. Jakob Trenin added a marker as the Wild broke a two-game skid, but moved to 7-2-0 in their last nine games. Matt Boldy had three assists to extend his point streak to 10 games (eight goals, 13 assists). Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson stopped 24 shots.
Nikita Kucherov scored for Tampa Bay, which began a four-game road trip with its third straight loss. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 17 saves.
Oilers 5, Senators 4 (OT)
Evan Bouchard scored the overtime winner as Edmonton recovered from a triple deficit to defeat visiting Ottawa. Zach Hyman tipped in a pass from Leon Draisaitl to force an extra frame with 1:25 left in regulation.
Draisaitl contributed two goals and three assists for the Oilers, who earned their second win in seven games (2-5-0). Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added a goal for Edmonton and Connor Ingram made 17 saves.
Drake Batherson scored twice and Dylan Cozens and Michael Amadio also tallied for the Senators. Linus Ullmark made 32 saves.

Sam Steel scored twice in a 3-point game and Matt Duchene had a career-high four assists to lead Dallas to its franchise-record-extending 10th straight win over host Calgary.
Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston both had one goal and one assist, while Mavrik Bourque and Nathan Bastian played on back-to-back nights to outscore their opponents 12-2 in a two-game road swing. Dallas goalie Casey Desmith made 20 saves and Jason Robertson had two assists.
Morgan Frost led the Flames to just three wins in 12 games (3-6-3). Calgary’s starting goalie Dustin Wolff was pulled after giving up four goals on 17 shots. Devin Cooley stopped 16 shots in the sweep.
Avalanche 5, Duck 1
Parker Kelly scored twice, Cale Makar had a goal and two assists, and visiting Colorado beat Anaheim.
Gabriel Landeskog and Martin Necas also scored, and Brock Nelson and Jack Drury each had two assists for Colorado, which has won its third straight win. The Avalanche, who have an NHL-high 91 points, remain six points ahead of the Dallas Stars in straight sets in the Central Division before the teams meet in Texas on Friday.
Cutter Gauthier scored his sixth goal in the last six games and Lucas Dostal made 21 saves for Anaheim, which snapped a five-game winning streak. The Ducks had won eight straight at home before Tuesday’s loss.
Bruins 2, Penguins 1
Marat Khusnutdinov and Casey Mittelstadt scored the equalizer and go-ahead goal 50 seconds into the first period to lead Boston to a victory over visiting Pittsburgh.
Jeremy Swayman made 34 saves to earn Team USA its first win since helping them win Olympic gold. The Bruins improved to 6-1-3 in their last 10 games and have won 11 straight at home.
Erik Karlsson scored and Stuart Skinner made 26 saves for the Penguins, who have scored in their first three games since the Olympics (2-0-1).
Blue Jacket 3, Predator 2
Charlie Coyle scored with 13:53 left in regulation to give Columbus the win over visiting Nashville.
Sean Monahan and Adam Fantilli (goals in four straight games) also scored for the Blue Jackets, who are 9-1-1 in their last 11 games. Jet Greaves made 21 saves but returned after sitting out eight minutes in the first period under concussion protocol.
Filip Forsberg and Ryan O’Reilly tallied for the Predators, who have lost their third straight game (0-2-1). O’Reilly left midway through the third period after taking the butt of a stick to his face and sustaining a visible cut. Justus Annunen stopped 24 shots.
Jets 3, Blackhawk 2 (OT)
Mark Scheifele scored with 2:54 left in overtime as Winnipeg began an eight-game homestand with a comeback win over Chicago.
The Jets’ Cole Perfetti tied the game with 39 seconds left in regulation. Scheifele had two assists and Dylan Samberg added a goal and an assist. Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck made 18 saves.
Teuvo Teravainen and Ryan Greene were the scorers for Chicago, while Connor Bedard had two assists. Spencer Knight blocked 29 shots.
Saber 3, Golden Knights 2
Tage Thompson scored his 33rd goal of the season and Alex Lyon made 27 saves as Buffalo won its fourth straight game, moving to a three-goal lead over visiting Vegas.
Owen Power and Jason Zucker added goals and Rasmus Dahlin had two assists for the Sabres, who improved to 25-5-2, a league best since Dec. 9.
Ivan Barbashev and Pavel Dorofeyev scored and Akira Schmid made 25 saves for the Golden Knights, who have dropped their third straight game.
Sharks 7, Canadiens 5
Kiefer Sherwood scored the eventual game winner and added an assist as San Jose beat visiting Montreal for its third straight win.
Macklin Celebrini scored a goal and added three assists for the Sharks. Will Smith and Colin Graf each had a goal and an assist, while Michael Misa, Alexander Wenberg and Adam Gaudette also scored. San Jose’s Yaroslav Askarov made 32 saves.
Alex Newhook scored twice and Oliver Kapanen, Phillip Danault and Ivan Demidov each had a goal for the Canadiens, who fell to 5-1-2 in their last eight games. Mike Matheson had three assists and Jake Evans added a pair of helpers. Jakub Dobes stopped 21 shots.

Dougie Hamilton had a goal and an assist, while Jack Hughes and Connor Brown each had two assists in New Jersey’s win over Florida in Newark, New Jersey.
Arseny Gritsyuk, Cody Glass, Dawson Mercer and Simon Nemec scored the other goals for the Devils. Jacob Markstrom stopped 20 of 21 shots.
The Panthers are on a three-game losing streak and are 2-8-0 in their last 10 games. Anton Lundel scored Florida’s only goal and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 28 of 31 shots.
Mammoth 3, Capital 2
Dylan Guenther, who stepped up to Utah’s top line during the morning skate, collected a goal and an assist to power the visiting Mammoth to a win over Washington.
Clayton Keller, one of Guenther’s new linemates, had two assists as the Mammoth recorded their fourth win in their last six games. Mikhail Sergachev and JJ Peterka each had a power-play goal and Karel Vejmelka made 23 saves for Utah.
Pierre-Luc Dubois and Ryan Leonard each had a power-play goal and Logan Thompson gave up 20 shots for the Capitals, who had their season-high five-game home winning streak halted.
