Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has called on New Delhi to return to the “negotiating tables”.
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has called to return to India “Discussion Tables” New Delhi and Kabul are only a “Part” Military Capabilities of Islamabad.
Addressing a joint session of Pakistan’s parliament on Monday, Zardari said war is a last resort and he “Lawyer for Life” Regional peace.
“For us, war is always a last resort” Zardari said. “No state will accept serial attacks on its soil… We have allowed both India and Afghanistan to see a fraction of our potential.”
Last May, Pakistan and India engaged in a four-day military standoff after a terrorist attack in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir killed 26 people, mostly tourists.

Islamabad and Kabul have been firing periodically since October 2025.
Pakistan launched heavy shelling and airstrikes on its western neighbor early Friday in response to Afghan Taliban forces firing on Pakistani border positions earlier in the day, killing two soldiers.
Pakistan has emerged victorious in its latest conflict with Afghanistan, which its western neighbor claims has cost 1,000 lives in last week’s cross-border escalation.
“This is not just a military victory; it is an expression of our national resolve in a crisis.” Zardari said.
The President of Pakistan noted that he wanted peace with India, but added, “Make no mistake. We are ready for you. My message to them is to move from the theaters of war to the tables of meaningful talks because that is the only way to regional security… India should listen carefully to us: Pakistan will continue to extend its full diplomatic and moral support to the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
While Pakistan governs about 30% of its territory, it claims the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir in its entirety. About 55% is administered by India, the rest is controlled by China.
