Iranian retaliation continues with drone and missile strikes as the conflict spreads across Gulf nations.

Air raid sirens have sounded across Israel, and people have rushed for shelter, as incoming Iranian missiles set off loud explosions in interception attempts as the US-Israel war against Iran entered its fifth day. Multiple locations are being attacked across Iran and Tehran is carrying out retaliatory attacks across the region.
Israel issued an alert early Wednesday morning, instructing residents to head to shelters as missiles were launched from Iran and defense systems were working to “intercept the threat.”

The order to seek refuge covered Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other areas of the country. Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, said it had received no reports of casualties.
“From where we are now in Ramallah, we heard very loud explosions, and they could be due to interceptions,” Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim reported.
Ibrahim said it appeared to be a broad salvo, complicating Israeli air defense efforts.
“According to Israeli media, there has been shrapnel from interceptions that fell in the area of Beit Shemesh, the town near west Jerusalem, where shrapnel, or a missile, fell two days ago and killed nine Israelis,” he added.
The Israeli military had also reported a previous missile launch from Iran several hours earlier.
Tehran has maintained its retaliatory missile and drone attacks against Israel and across the Gulf, while US President Donald Trump said the conflict could last a month.
Separately, Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry said it intercepted and destroyed two cruise missiles over al-Kharj governorate.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said its forces intercepted and destroyed several “hostile air targets” that entered the country’s airspace early this morning.
Attacks against Iran continue
Explosions were heard in Tehran on Wednesday as the Israeli military said it had carried out a series of attacks in Iran’s capital against its forces.
It said it hit buildings associated with Basij, the all-volunteer force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Israeli military also said it attacked buildings associated with Iran’s internal security command, which has also repressed protests in the past.

At least 787 people have been killed across Iran in joint attacks between the United States and Israel, the Iranian Red Crescent Society says.
Al Jazeera’s Tohid Asadi, reporting from the Iranian capital, said massive explosions were heard in Tehran. “We have also received reports of explosions in different cities, including Karaj and Isfahan.”
Asadi reported that the IRGC announced that “ground forces entered into battlefield operations” involving 230 drones.
“In addition, they were talking about a naval operation targeting American military ships,” he added.
“In Tehran I see no signs of tension easing, and escalation is the name of the game,” Asadi concluded.
