Mets right-hander Nolan McLean has recovered from dizziness-like symptoms that put his ability to play in the World Baseball Classic in doubt.

McLean, who is scheduled to start Game 4 for the U.S. team in its final pool game in Houston, said he felt significantly better Tuesday after first feeling sick on Friday.

“I haven’t missed a day of throwing. Last week I was still feeling dizzy and working on it a little bit, but this week I’m feeling pretty good,” said McLean, 24, from the Mets’ spring training facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

The Mets maintained their regular schedule, continuing a session in the backfield on Wednesday before deciding to schedule a trip to Houston. Team USA is holding camp in Scottsdale, Arizona, but McLean could head from Florida to Texas.

“He was complaining of dizziness, so we decided to be smart and keep him here before he went on the field,” Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said. “If you talk to a doctor, he’ll be cleared right now.”

Team USA coach Mark DeRosa has been in contact with McLean and Mendoza about the situation. DeRosa said on Monday that he was considering McLean day-to-day for the WBC and on Tuesday that the right-hander was still on the schedule.

There is still a week left until Team USA’s fourth WBC match against Italy (Tuesday, March 10). DeRosa has already set up the starting pitcher rotation, with Logan Webb starting Friday in Game 1 against Brazil in the opener of pool play. AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal started Saturday against Great Britain, and Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes started Monday night against Mexico.
