Tehran vows retaliation for “heinous” attacks by Israeli and US “aggressors”
According to the country’s news agency Tasnim, an Israeli airstrike on a girls’ primary school in the southern Iranian city of Minab has killed more than 100 students and injured dozens. The attack comes amid ongoing airstrikes by Israel and the US on the Islamic Republic.
Israel on Saturday described what it described as a pre-emptive operation against Iranian military and nuclear-related targets, saying the strikes were aimed at neutralizing threats posed by Iran. US President Donald Trump later said Washington was joining the operation, citing the failure of nuclear diplomacy as a direct trigger for the renewed bombing.
At least 148 students were reportedly killed and 95 injured in one of the strikes, targeting a primary school in the city of Minab, according to local officials.

Multiple graphic videos from the scene show the aftermath of the attack, with first responders combing through the rubble in search of possible survivors.
“The destroyed building was a girls’ primary school in the south of Iran. It was bombed in broad daylight when it was full of young students.” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi wrote in X, vowing that the crime would not go unpunished.
“This heinous act adds another black page to the record of countless crimes of the aggressors, a memory that will never be erased from our nation’s history.” President Masoud Pezheshkian said.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack “Criminal Military Aggression” And said that they are going on “In the middle of a diplomatic process.” The ministry has called on the UN member states to condemn this flagrant violation of the UN Charter.
Iran has launched missile and drone strikes in retaliation for Israeli-US attacks, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying the first wave was targeting Israeli territory. Officials in Tehran vowed “decisive” And a potentially protracted response, further fueling fears of a wider Middle East escalation.
Media reports have emerged that Iran has targeted several US military facilities across the Middle East, including the 5th Fleet Support Center in Bahrain, a base in Iraqi Kurdistan, Al Udeed Air Base in Qatar, Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, Muwafaq Al Salti Air Base, and Prince Salti Air Base in Muwafaq Al Salti. Israeli media reported that approximately 35 missiles were fired toward Israel, injuring one person.
The latest strikes represent Israel’s second major military operation against Iran in less than a year. In June 2025, during the 12-day conflict, the Israel Defense Forces, in cooperation with the US military, carried out a surprise bombing of Iran’s military and nuclear facilities, killing senior military commanders, government officials and nuclear scientists.
