Canadians were involved in a tourist bus crash in the Caribbean nation Sunday night, the Canadian Embassy in the Dominican Republic said.
An embassy statement posted on social media Monday said staff were providing consular assistance but did not say how many Canadians were on the bus or what their condition was.

Local media reported two deaths and at least 19 injuries in the crash near Kumayasa, about an hour’s drive west of the popular resort area of Punta Cana.
Officials confirmed that both deaths were of foreign nationals, reports said, without confirming their citizenship.
The Canadian Press reached out to Global Affairs Canada for comment, but the department said it could not provide any additional information.
The embassy in the Dominican Republic said any Canadians in need of assistance should contact the Emergency Observation and Response Centre.
