Anton Forsberg made 29 saves for the Los Angeles Kings in a 2-0 win over the visiting Calgary Flames on Saturday afternoon.

Forsberg, who had allowed 16 goals in losses in his previous four starts, recorded his second shutout of the season and 10th of his 11-year NHL career.

Alex Laferriere and Adrian Kempe scored for the Kings, who have lost five straight, most recently an 8-1 rout of the visiting Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.

Dustin Wolf made 35 saves for the Flames, who have won two straight and are now 4-3.

The Kings took a 1-0 lead at 15:36 of the second period.

Brant Clark started the play with a diagonal pass to Trevor Moore on the Calgary blue line in the neutral zone. He skated over Wolf before taking a wrist shot from the left circle that hit the near post.

Moore gathered the puck back in the corner and passed it to Quinton Byfield behind the net, who passed it in front to Laferriere. His initial shot from just under the right hash mark was saved, but Moore dislodged the puck before Wolfe could cover it and Laferriere hit the puck on the side of the net for his 14th goal of the season.

The Flames went nearly 12 minutes in the third period without a chance to score, helping the Kings maintain a one-goal advantage until Kempe scored on an empty net with 38 seconds left to make it 2-0.

Kempe has nine goals in his last 12 games with the Flames.

The Kings played without injured defenseman Drew Doughty (lower body) and forward Joel Armia (upper body) in their loss to Edmonton.

The Kings announced on Saturday that winger Andrei Kuzmenko had surgery for a torn meniscus and will be weekly for surgery.
