Iran was hit by a series of US and Israeli airstrikes over the weekend, as the two countries’ leaders called on the Iranian people to overthrow the regime.
The attacks, part of what the US called Operation Epic Fury, killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in his Tehran compound and dozens of senior Iranian officials.

Attacks shut down Middle East airports
The airstrikes triggered Iranian retaliatory attacks on several countries in the Middle East, as the regime retaliated.
It has fired drones and missiles at US military installations in Israel and around the Gulf, as well as the tourism and business hub of Dubai.
So what happened and where?
Iran
Iranian officials say more than 200 people have been killed in the country since the US and Israeli strikes began on Saturday.
In a video on Donald Trump’s Satya social platform, he said hundreds of Iranian targets had been hit, including Revolutionary Guard facilities and air defense systems, and that the strike had wiped out Iran’s military command.
The US president told Fox News that 48 leaders had been killed in Iran and wrote on TruthSocial that nine Iranian naval vessels had been destroyed and sunk.
The American military said US forces shot down an Iranian Zamaran-class corvette in Chabahar in the Gulf of Oman during the launch of the operation.
Israel said it had killed 40 senior Iranian military officers, including Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and Revolutionary Guards Commander Mohammad Pakpour.
At least 165 people were killed in Saturday’s strike on an all-girls school in the southern city of Minab, Iranian state media said.
But the Israeli military said it was not aware of any Israeli or American attacks in the area of ​​the school.
The Israeli military said its planes were carrying out strikes to open “the path to Tehran” and that most air defense systems in western and central Iran had been dismantled.
Many targets remain, including military-industrial production sites, the spokesman said.
Israel
At least nine people have been killed in Israel after an attack on a synagogue in the central town of Beit Shemesh, according to officials.
Another 28 people were injured in the attack.
In Tel Aviv, loud explosions can be heard from missile strikes or interceptions.
United States
The US military says three American service members have been killed and five seriously wounded in a military operation targeting Iran. It does not identify service members.
But Sky’s US partner NBC News reported that two US officials said the deadly attack took place in Kuwait.
United Arab Emirates
As Iran targets the wider Gulf region, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said on Sunday that three people were killed in an Iranian attack on the country.
According to the Ministry of Defense, 165 ballistic missiles were fired at Iran, of which 152 were destroyed. Thirteen fell into the sea, it added.
Iran launched 541 bomb-carrying drones at the UAE, of which 506 were destroyed.
Shrapnel from an Iranian attack on the emirate’s capital, Abu Dhabi, killed two people, state media said.
In Dubai, two people were injured when shrapnel from drones fell on two houses, the Dubai State Media Office said in a statement.
Dubai’s international airport, its landmark Burj Al Arab hotel and the Fairmont The Palm hotel on Palm Jumeirah island were damaged, as was Abu Dhabi’s international airport.
Kuwait
One person was killed and 20 others injured in a retaliatory attack by Iran, Kuwait’s health ministry said on Sunday.
A dozen people were wounded in Kuwait in earlier attacks on Saturday.
Kuwait Ministry of Defense said that Iran fired 97 ballistic missiles and 283 drones at the country.
Bahrain
Bahrain said the missile attack targeted the US Navy’s 5th Fleet headquarters and damaged three buildings in the capital Manama and the city of Muharraq.
UK Defense Secretary John Healy said Iran’s missile and drone strikes came within a few hundred meters of a group of 300 British military personnel in Bahrain.
Qatar
An RAF Typhoon jet operating from Qatar used an air-to-air missile to “successfully” shoot down an Iranian drone that was flying towards Qatari territory, a Defense Ministry spokesman said on Sunday.
Oman
A projectile hit the Marshall Islands-flagged product tanker MKD VYOM while the vessel was sailing off the coast of Oman, killing one crew member, V.Ships – the ship’s management company – said.
In Oman, Iran struck the port of Duqm, which is used by the US Navy as a logistical hub and capable of hosting aircraft carriers.
Strait of Hormuz
The strategic Strait of Hormuz, which sees one-fifth of the world’s traded oil pass through it, is a critical trade route along Iran’s southern border.
An oil tanker, the Palau-flagged vessel Skylight, came under attack in the strait, injuring four sailors on board, state-run Oman News Agency said.
The UK’s Maritime Trade Operations Center said the ship was hit by a projectile off Mina Saqr in the UAE that caused the fire.
The fire was extinguished and the ship decided to continue on its way.
A vessel in the Iranian strait also came under attack after Iranian officials reportedly radioed threats to ships transiting the strait.
At least 150 tankers, including crude oil and liquefied natural gas vessels, are in a sign of disruption to fuel supplies.
The anchor was dropped in the open gulf waters beyond the Strait of Hormuz.
And dozens were stationary on the other side of the checkpoint, shipping data showed.
Cyprus
UK Defense Secretary John Healy said two missiles were fired in the direction of Cyprus, which has UK bases. “We don’t believe they are targeting Cyprus,” he said.
Jordan
Jordan said it had dealt with 49 drones and ballistic missiles.
Pakistan
At least nine people were killed in clashes between protesters and police after hundreds stormed the US consulate in the port city of Karachi.
At least 25 people were injured and some of them were in critical condition, police and officials said. Later, the protesters were dispersed and the situation was under control, police said.
