The attacks had an immediate impact on crypto prices, with many assets falling before a modest recovery.
As has happened with several other global cases in the last few months, a group of suspected individuals knew what was going on and profited significantly.
Recall that Israel and the US launched coordinated attacks against Iran on Saturday, and Bubblemaps noted that a group of wallets had bet a total of $1.2 million in the hours before these developments occurred.
JUST IN: 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 Six suspects bet $1.2 million on US attack on Iran
Most of these wallets:
• Funded in the last 24 hours
• bet especially for February 28
• bought “ha” hours before the strike pic.twitter.com/n3G6OIEOXt— Bubble Map (@bubblemaps) February 28, 2026
Given the precision of their actions – funding the wallets in the last 24 hours before the events happened, choosing February 28 and betting on “yes” shortly before the strike, the most likely conclusion is that they knew about what happened in the Middle East on Saturday morning.
We remind you that at first reports were published about the start of Israeli attacks against Iran and then the order to declare a state of emergency on its borders with the expectation of retaliation. Then, US President Donald Trump confirmed that his country is also involved in this incident.
POTUS doubled down in the hours that followed, categorizing the attacks as a “major military operation.” It is worth noting that Iran actually responded by retaliating against several US allies, such as Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain.
The initial attacks from the morning caused immediate damage to the cryptocurrency markets. Bitcoin dropped from $66,000 to $63,000 in minutes, while most altcoins fell 2-4% in less than an hour.
