LYON won 3-1 in Saturday’s lower bracket final, taking the first map in 31 minutes as South Korea’s Min-cheol “Berserker” Kim posted a 7-0-1 kill-death-assist ratio. LYON won again in 37 minutes as American/Indian player Niship “Dhokla” Doshi had a KDA of 7-3-6 and Berserker had a 5-0-6.
In the third game, South Korea’s HamBak Yoo Yoo-jin recorded a KDA of 5-0-8 and the Sentinels won in 34 minutes.
However, Lyon ended the game with a deficit in the 39th minute in the 4th game. Berserker contributed a 6-3-7 KDA.
Following the eight-team Swiss stage of the League of Legends event, six teams participated in a double-elimination playoff, with all matches being best-of-five matches. The overall winner will qualify for the First Stand Tournament, while the second and third place teams will advance to the America’s Cup.
The latter two events are both played in Sao Paulo.
Cloud9, who topped the Swiss stage standings with a 3-0 record, advanced to the playoffs by beating FlyQuest 3-0 in the upper bracket semifinals and Sentinels 3-0 in the upper bracket finals.
LYON, who finished fifth in the Swiss stage, eliminated FlyQuest with a 3-0 win in the lower bracket quarterfinals and then defeated Team Liquid 3-1 in Saturday’s semifinals.
