The BJP has accused Kejriwal of sending fake calls to mislead voters

New Delhi: The BJP on Sunday accused AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of organizing fake calls to mislead voters, including from the New Delhi constituency, alleging that they were “cancelled” by the BJP. Addressing a press conference, BJP MP Parvesh Verma played an audio recording of the same call, in which a person was heard saying, “Your vote has been withheld by the BJP. AAP will make sure you get your vote back,” and urged the receiver to support the Aam Aadmi Party.

“People are being given false calls, saying that BJP will end all plans of AAP. It is a blatant lie,” he said.

He also wondered how “confidential voter information” could be accessed by the party.

“Except the Election Commission of India, this information has not been shared with anyone. How did Kejriwal get the voter contact list? It needs to be investigated,” Verma said.

The BJP candidate from New Delhi for the assembly elections also accused the AAP of distributing Rs 500 covered in calendars in slum areas. He claimed that he has arrested three people in this connection.

There was no immediate response from AAP to the allegations, nor from the Delhi Police.
He says that he has complained to the Election Commission and his party is requesting to investigate this incident. BJP leader and party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, who was also present at the press conference, welcomed the US Supreme Court’s decision to extradite Tohur Rana, accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, to India.

Trivedi said, “Under Modi’s leadership, the government is committed to the fight against terrorism. The decision to extradite Tahur Rana to India is a welcome one for all of us.”

Trivedi accused AAP and Congress of supporting activities that indirectly support terrorism.

“Atchi’s parents were among those who sought ‘Shama Yajan’ (repentance ritual) for Afzal Guru,” he claimed.
