Iran attacked oil and gas sites in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait as the conflict quickly escalated into a war over world energy supplies. Iran said it was retaliation after Israel attacked the South Pars natural gas refinery on Iran’s coast, which holds the world’s largest gas reserves. President Donald Trump says the United States was not involved in the original strike in South Pars but is threatening to blow up an entire gas field if Iran attacks Qatar again. NBC’s Richard Engel reports today.
