Companies valued at $10 billion or more are generally classified as “large-cap stocks,” and BR fits the label perfectly, with a market cap above that range, indicating its size, influence, and dominance in the IT services industry. The company is aggressively expanding its footprint in digital assets and artificial intelligence, reaching record volumes through its distributed ledger repo (DLR) platform and enhancing its cross-border funding distribution capabilities in Europe through the recent strategic acquisition of Ecoline.
The fintech company is down 34.4% from its 52-week high of $271.91 on August 7, 2025. BR shares have declined 22.5% over the past three months, with State Street Technologies outperforming the SPDR ETF sector over the same period (XLK 4%).
Additionally, on a YTD basis, BR shares are down 20.1%, compared to XLK’s 5% decline. In the long term, BR has fallen 21% over the past 52 weeks, notably lagging XLK’s 31.8% rise over the same time frame.
To confirm the bearish trend, BR has been trading below its 200-day moving average since late September and has remained below its 50-day moving average since mid-September, with little change.
On February 3, BR posted better-than-expected Q2 earnings results, but its shares still fell 6.3%. The company’s total revenue rose 7.9% year over year to $1.7 billion, beating consensus estimates of 7.5%, while its adjusted EPS grew 1.9%, handily above analysts’ expectations of $1.34. Strong organic growth of 7%, including strength in investor participation and higher levels of event-driven activity, supported this performance.
BR compared to its competitor, Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. ( FIS ), which has fallen 28.8% over the past 52 weeks and 25.2% on a YTD basis.
