Meanwhile, another member of the community believes that the patience of XRP investors is “actually a psychological phenomenon”.
Ripple and its original counterparts have a significant community, but also have their fair share of critics due to some of the original implementations. Its rise in popularity over the past few years has been astounding, sometimes even outpacing the rise of the market.
So whenever someone, especially a high-profile figure in the cryptocurrency industry, speaks out against XRP in some form, there is usually a backlash.
Does the bank wear a hood?
Jeremy Davinci is one of the OG crypto influencers and analysts and famously advises people to buy BTC when it hits $1. In a recent post on X, he criticized XRP for several key features that could actually make it a “hooded bank.”
He noted that these factors could include hidden leverage, fake decentralization, stalled exits, insider advantages, and users in wrapped IOUs. Instead, he explained that bitcoin has none of these.
Your favorite crypto project is just a bank in disguise.
*cough* $XRP

Predictably, most of the comments under the posts bashed Jeremy, with one saying: “This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever read from you. XRP is everything they wanted Bitcoin to be. It’s the truth.” Naturally, Jeremy disagreed. However, others agreed with his initial comments, saying that “XRP does not and will not match Bitcoin”.
Finally, the XRP moment?
Contrary to the above statement, XRP Bags, among the most vocal members of the XRP community, has shown how it feels to own a cross-border token. They believe that every year so far has started with big promises, but doesn’t seem to have come to fruition, or at least not until 2023, when this was the first big break in the lawsuit against the SEC.

2022 – “just wait”
2023 – “WE WON (partially)”.
