OG Anunoby added 25 points and Mitchell Robinson had 12 points and 22 rebounds for New York, which won its second straight win and completed a 3-2 road trip. Mikal Bridges had 11 points in the win.
Jarace Walker’s 18 points led Indiana, Aaron Nesmith had 12 and Ivica Zubac had 11. TJ McConnell had 10 points for the Pacers, who have lost 12 straight.
New York, which led by 11 points at halftime, expanded its lead to 15 points on Bridges’ pull-up jumper with 8:13 left in the third quarter.
Back-to-back 3-pointers by Jay Huff soon started an 18-5 Indiana run, and the Pacers were up 71 apiece on McConnell’s mid-range jumper. After Brunson made a layup, Nesmith and New York’s Jordan Clarkson traded triples to put the Knicks up by two points and up in the fourth.
New York opened the final quarter with five straight points, but McConnell scored six straight Indiana points to pull the Pacers back by two points.
New York, ahead 90-88, scored seven consecutive points and secured the victory with Anunoby’s layup at 1 minute and 39 seconds, nine points ahead.
Pacome Dadiet hit a 3-pointer to open a 9-0 run and give the Knicks an early 17-8 lead. Obi Toppin’s 3-pointer pulled the Pacers within 3 points entering the second quarter.
Indiana took a 35-34 lead with 6 minutes and 59 seconds left in the first half, following Nesmith’s 3-pointer and Andrew Nemhard’s stepback jumper.
Brunson’s personal 8-0 spurt gave New York a 45-37 lead. Brunson added a fadeaway jumper to give the visitors a seven-point lead with 1:57 left in the first half.
After Zubac split a pair of free throws, Robinson’s dunk and Landry Shamet’s trey gave the Knicks a 56-45 halftime advantage. Brunson led all scorers with 23 first-half points, while Zubac’s nine points paced the Pacers at the break.
