Mandatory Credit: Jaime Valdez-Imagn Image Jrue Holiday had 25 points and seven assists and backup Scoot Henderson also had 25 points in the Portland Trail Blazers’ 124-114 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Friday night.
Donovan Clingan had 21 points and 15 rebounds as the Trail Blazers completed a four-game season sweep of the Jazz. Deni Avdija added 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds and Sidy Cissoko had 14 points for Portland.
Bryce Sensabau scored 31 points and made six 3-pointers for the second straight game as the Jazz suffered their 10th loss in 12 games. Cody Williams added 19 points and seven rebounds, Isaiah Collier had 17 points and nine assists, Kyle Filiposki had 11 points and Elijah Harkless had 10 points off the bench.
Utah played without Keyonte George (right hamstring), who was injured in Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks.
Portland shot 51.7% from the field, including 17 of 46 3-pointers. Henderson made five treys and Holiday sank four.
The Jazz made 45.2 percent of their shots and were 13 of 30 from behind the arc.
Sensabaugh was keeping Utah in the game, hitting a short turnaround jumper to put the Jazz up 108-103 with 4:34 remaining.
Holiday and Henderson responded with back-to-back treys to give Portland an 11-point lead with 3:28 left.
Utah fell behind by seven points before Avdija scored twice during a 6-0 run and the Trail Blazers closed the game, pushing the lead to 124-111 with 54.6 seconds to play.
Henderson scored 18 first-half points to help Portland take a 66-58 halftime lead. Sensabaugh had 15 first-half points for the Jazz.
Utah led 16-4, 33-15. The Jazz were ahead 38-22 before the Trail Blazers scored 20 straight points, the last six of the first quarter.
The first 14 points of the second gave them a four-point lead.
Portland took an 11-point lead in the second half, and took a 72-60 lead following Grant’s 3-pointer early in the third quarter. The Jazz rallied back to within two in the second half before going into the fourth down 95-89.
