The Florida Panthers earned a 2-1 overtime victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night in Sunrise, Fla., on Sam Rinehart’s power-play goal 2:20 into the game.

Reinhardt scored from a sharp angle under the left circle to decide the winner. Defenseman Mike Benning picked up his second assist in his NHL debut.

Columbus was awarded a penalty after a call to Fantilli on Matthew Tkachuk’s breakaway attempt 48 seconds into overtime. Tkachuk got his first assist on Reinhart’s game-winning goal.

Bennett’s power play goal tied the game at 1-1 with 1:28 left in the third quarter. He controlled the goal post and rebounded just past Merzlikins’ left crease.

Pantilli gave Columbus a 1-0 lead with 6 minutes and 59 seconds left in the second half. He scored with an off-wing wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle during a 3-on-1 rush. Four seconds passed after the Blue Jackets’ power play ended.

It was Pantilli’s sixth goal in his last nine games.

Bobrovsky made two great saves early in the period to keep the game scoreless.

He made a glove stop on Cole Sillinger in the bottom of the left circle with 2:28 left in the first half. Bobrovsky made a save on Kirill Marchenko in the bottom of the left circle when Bobrovsky fell during a power play before Fantilli scored. That stop was with 8:04 left in the middle.

The Blue Jackets held a 14-3 shot advantage during the scoreless opening period.

Columbus’ Dimitri Voronkov returns after being a healthy scratch for three games.
