Mandatory Credit: Peter Creveling-Imagn Image Jordan Clarkson scored 17 of his season-high 27 points during a decisive surge in the final 16 minutes Wednesday. The New York Knicks overcame an 18-point first-half deficit to beat the Utah Jazz 134-117 in Salt Lake City.
Clarkson, who played the previous five-plus seasons in Utah, had his highest point total since Feb. 5, 2025, when he scored 31 points for the Jazz against the Golden State Warriors.
The Knicks shot a whopping 64.4 percent (29 of 45) in the second half and ended the game up 53-27, snapping a two-game losing streak and improving to 2-2 on a five-game road trip.
Jalen Brunson scored 28 points for the Knicks and converted a 3-pointer to put New York ahead 96-94 with 1.6 seconds left in the third quarter. OG Anunoby had 22 points, Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 and Mohamed Diawara added 10 off the bench.
Brice Sensabaugh scored 29 points, leading five players in double figures, and the Jazz lost for the 17th time in 22 games after making 14 of their first 18 3-point attempts, including eight straight in the first quarter.
Utah made just 4 of its last 18 shots from beyond the arc.
Ace Bailey scored 21 points, Kyle Filipowski scored 15 points, Keyonte George scored 14 points, and Cody Williams scored 10 points.
The Jazz led 41-26 at the end of the first inning, and after securing an 18-point lead at the end of the second, the Knicks began to fall back little by little. Utah led 65-56 at halftime and advanced by double digits eight times through the third, ending the game with Clarkson’s layup with 3 minutes and 16 seconds left.
The Knicks took their first lead since the first quarter at 93-92 thanks to a pair of Anunoby’s free throws with 33.4 seconds left in the third quarter. Isaiah Collier responded with a jumper before Brunson’s 3-point play.
Clarkson scored 13 points with a 3-pointer in the fourth to put the Knicks ahead by double digits, 112-101, with 7 minutes and 37 seconds left in the game. New York leads with a whopping 22 people.
