Iran’s military says it has attacked Israeli military bases and the Shin Bet national security service as the US-Israel war against Iran and Tehran’s retaliation across the region approaches its third week.
“The Zionist regime’s Palmachim and Ovda air bases, as well as the headquarters of the Shin Bet, were attacked by drones of the Islamic Republic of Iran army,” the army said in a statement Thursday carried on state television. Israel has yet to comment on the Iranian military’s claims.

Israel said it identified more missiles launched toward the country from Iran. Missile warning alarms sounded in Jerusalem and explosions were heard as the Israeli army tried to intercept incoming fire.
Overnight, missile launches from Iran and Hezbollah also caused Israelis to flee to shelters in many other areas, including Tel Aviv and the northern border area with Lebanon.
Israel said on Thursday it had launched another round of “large-scale” airstrikes across Iran.
According to Israeli officials, at least 13 people in Israel have been killed and nearly 2,000 wounded since the war began on February 28.
Now in its 13th day, the war shows no signs of abating despite US President Donald Trump’s insistence that US strikes on Iran had already virtually defeated him.

He said any resolution must include recognition of Iran’s rights, payment of reparations and international guarantees against future attacks.
There has still been no response from Washington.
Pezeshkian published his comments as diplomatic efforts to contain the conflict intensify, as Russia maintains close contact with Iranian leaders and calls for a cessation of hostilities.
Iran says US and Israel attack hospitals
Hospitals and health facilities across Iran have suffered damage as attacks between the United States and Israel intensify, according to Iranian Deputy Health Minister Ali Jafarian.
Speaking to Al Jazeera from Tehran, Jafarian said medical teams are treating a growing number of victims, many of them civilians.
“Unfortunately, there are many…victims dying on the spot because (the United States and Israel) are massively bombing…civilian infrastructure,” he said, adding that at least 1,395 people have died.
People are trapped under collapsed buildings, he said, adding that attacks in urban areas have intensified in recent days.
“We have 31 major clinical facilities and hospitals damaged. Twelve of those hospitals are inactive now.”
Al Jazeera’s Tohid Asadi, reporting from Tehran, said the targets are not just military sites or police stations but also civilian facilities such as schools and hospitals. He said oil deposits and energy and water infrastructure around Tehran have also been attacked.
“We have reports of power outages in some cities, such as Karaj, but there are also serious concerns at the moment when it comes to public health and the air that people breathe in the Iranian capital and in cities near the capital,” he added.
Analysts said Israel’s tactics in Iran mirror its conduct during its genocidal war in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023. They accused Israel of dismantling entire systems by attacking schools, public infrastructure and state institutions.
A spokesman for the Iranian Red Crescent Society said Wednesday that nearly 20,000 civilian buildings, including at least 16,000 residential units, have been affected since the US-Israel war against Iran began.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, said on X on Thursday that any US aggression against Iran’s islands in the Gulf will lead Tehran to “abandon all moderation.”
Several Iranian islands, including Kharg, are critical energy export terminals. In others there are Iranian military bases.
