The Las Vegas Raiders find themselves in an awkward situation after the Ravens backed out of a deal that would have sent pass rusher Maxx Crosby to Baltimore.

The Ravens agreed to send a pair of first-round picks to the Raiders for the former All-Pro on Friday. With Crosby off the market, many teams have devoted significant resources to upgrading their pass rushes during the first two days that teams can negotiate with free agents.

Las Vegas also spent a lot of money on both sides of the ball. So when Baltimore pulled out of the deal on Tuesday, the Raiders were left facing a tight salary cap and fewer potential suitors interested in signing Crosby.

At least one sportsbook still prefers Crosby to play elsewhere next season. The odds of him remaining with the Raiders for eight seasons are +150, while the odds of him not being with Las Vegas are -200. This means Crosby has a 33.3% chance of playing in Las Vegas in 2026.

The question arises: Where will Crosby end up?

The shortest odds belong to the reigning AFC champions, followed by NFC contenders looking to add a few key spots to take the next step.

The Patriots were believed to be interested in Crosby before the Ravens trade was announced. With K’Lavon Chaisson agreeing to terms with Washington, New England really needs a pass rusher like Crosby despite adding Dre’Mont Jones. But are the Patriots willing to part with the two first-round picks the Raiders are still looking for for Crosby?

The Bears suffered an overtime loss, failing to advance to the NFC Championship Game. Since then, they’ve signed defenseman Coby Bryant from the world champion Seahawks, and Crosby could be another key piece in taking Chicago to the top.

The Bears need to find cap space and determine if their asking price is worth it for the 28-year-old recovering from knee surgery. They were reportedly willing to give up two first-round picks before falling behind Baltimore, which offered a first-rounder 11 spots higher than Chicago.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones loves creating flashy headlines, and adding Crosby will certainly do that. Dallas also spent a significant amount of money on free agents this week, but the Cowboys still have an additional first-round pick this year from the Micah Parsons trade. Interestingly, Crosby played high school football at Colleyville, less than an hour from Dallas.

The situation is different for the other two teams where the odds of Crosby landing are shorter than +1000. Will the Browns pair him with Myles Garrett, or could they potentially trade the single-season sack record holder? In this scenario, Cleveland could free up draft capital while sending Garrett to a contending team like New England or Philadelphia.

The Browns are ripe for trade speculation, but they will likely have a hard time trading the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year due to dead cap space. And the Eagles are reportedly interested in extending defensive tackle Jalen Carter rather than including him in a multi-team deal that would bring in Garrett in return.

And there’s a chance Crosby could suit up for the Silver and Black next season. Sports Illustrated reported that he returned to the team facility at 8 a.m. Wednesday and is considered a member of the Raiders staff moving forward.
