BofA restated coverage on Mastercard Inc. (NYSE:MA) on March 5 with a buy rating, setting a $700 price target.

In a separate development, Mastercard Inc. (NYSE:MA) announced on March 4 that it has completed a pilot offering its first authenticated agent transaction in Malaysia. This marks a significant step forward for trusted AI-powered businesses, according to management, who conducted the trial with CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, Malayan Banking Berhad, and RHB Banking Group using MasterCard Agent Payments. It is launched in a controlled test environment by AI agents, ensuring transparency, security and complete consumer control.

Mastercard Incorporated (NYSE:MA) further said the pilot showcased the ways AI can help consumers seamlessly and safely complete everyday tasks, such as transportation. AI Agent traveled from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to KL Sentral Hippaa global mobility provider, in an open test case, with bookings and agent transfers facilitated by CardInfoLink’s AI agent. Authenticated credentials with MasterCard Payment Passkeys are used by the transaction to ensure strong customer authentication and data protection. MasterCard Inc. (NYSE:MA) reported that while the technical and operational feasibility of Agent Transfer in Malaysia has been confirmed by the pilot, commercial deployment will begin in phases.
