The Texas Longhorns are playing for seeding and the Mississippi Rebels need to win the SEC Tournament to make March Madness. We’ve seen Texas have varying levels of success throughout the season, but that hasn’t been the case for Ole Miss.

This game will be played with free throws and offensive rebounds.

Texas ranks 23rd in the nation in offensive rebounding percentage (36.1%) this season. Ole Miss currently ranks 297th in opponent offensive rebounding percentage (32.9%). On the other hand, the Rebels struggle with offensive rebounds, while the Longhorns don’t allow many rebounds to their opponents.

Both teams have found success at the free throw line this season. The difference is how quickly they get there. Texas ranked 3rd (46.2%) in the FTA/FGA category, and Ole Miss ranked 211th (34.1%) in the same category. These teams also have trouble allowing free throws.

Ultimately, Texas will see a lot of second chance shots and free throws throughout this game. They need to utilize them in ways Ole Miss can’t and give them the upper hand in important games.

The Kentucky Wildcats appear to be one of the most underrated teams in the NCAA entering tournament season. They were a major disappointment in terms of expectations this season, but fell drastically behind in the SEC Tournament. The LSU Tigers have struggled against high-end competition all season.

There are several important aspects as to why Kentucky should easily beat LSU in the SEC Tournament. First, the Wildcats have struggled with turnovers due to not having a true point guard. LSU is also loose with the ball, but neither team forces turnovers at a high rate.

Both teams struggle with fouls, but Kentucky is much better at drawing fouls. LSU has the edge in free throw percentage, but the Wildcats need to find more free throws throughout the game. Kentucky is also working on its 3-point defense, but the Tigers do not have a solid shooter other than Max McKinnon.

Lastly, Kentucky will have a huge advantage in rebounding. While LSU has struggled at times on the glass this season, the Wildcats have been outstanding. You can easily earn second chance points throughout the game.

These teams have played hard games earlier this season, but don’t expect LSU to find the same efficiency in these types of games.
