Quintauris, a provider of RISC-V-based solutions, has teamed up with automation and mobility software developer eSOL to improve software integration for automation platforms built on the RISC-V architecture.
The partnership focuses on the integration of eSOL’s “real-time” operating system technology with Quintauris RISC-V platforms.
RISC-V is an open standard instruction set architecture (ISA) built on the principles of reduced instruction set computing (RISC).
It enables companies to design, manufacture and commercialize chips without licensing fees or royalty payments.
Through the collaboration, eSOL’s “real-time” capabilities will be incorporated into Quintauris’ platforms to support next-generation automation systems that require automation, security and efficient software portability.
The companies said the partnership aims to accelerate the availability of production-ready RISC-V solutions for the automotive sector, where demand for scalable and energy-efficient computing platforms is growing.
Quintauris Market Strategy Officer Pedro López Estepa said: “The collaboration with eSOL reinforces our commitment to deliver robust, “real-time” capable RISC-V platforms for the automotive market.
“Their proven expertise in high-performance embedded software will help our ecosystem partners and customers accelerate development and shorten the path to production.”
The combination of eSOL’s “real-time” operating technology with Quintauris’ unified RISC-V software environment is expected to provide original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier-1 suppliers with a sustainable basis for developing automation applications,
These include advanced driver assistance systems, vehicle controls and zonal structures.
The companies also aim to support interoperability, simplify software integration processes and offer a migration path for vehicle developers looking for alternatives to proprietary architectures.
“eSOL is excited to partner with Quintauris to bring our ‘real-time’ technology to the next wave of RISC-V automation platforms,” added Tomoyuki Uda, eSOL Vice CBO, General Manager of Business Management Division and General Manager of eSOL Europe.
Founded in 2003, Quintauris is a joint venture between Bosch, Infineon, Nordic Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, Qualcomm and STMicroelectronics.
“Quintauris and eSOL Team on RISC-V Automation Software Integration” was originally developed and published by JustAuto, a brand owned by Global Data.
