Phoenix opened its six-game road trip with three straight wins, hitting a season-high 24 3-pointers (51 attempts). Jalen Green added 25 points, Royce O’Neal had 21 points and Colin Gillespie had 12 points, nine boards and nine assists.
Kyle Kuzma scored a season-high 33 points and went 6-of-10 from 3-point range, but the Bucks lost for the sixth time in seven contests. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Myles Turner added 22 points each, and Ousmane Dieng had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
This contest was an aggressive shootout with both teams having high shooting success rates from the beginning. Phoenix got off to a 7-0 start, but neither team led by more than seven points in the first half.
Both teams made 9 3-pointers before the break and had a floor success rate of over 52%. Milwaukee committed nine turnovers to Phoenix’s six, but the Bucks barely won the rebound battle, taking a 65-62 halftime lead thanks to Kuzma’s 3-pointer.
The halftime break did nothing to slow down either side. Kuzma had an explosive performance against Milwaukee, scoring 16 points on three consecutive 3-pointers. But O’Neale was even better with 18 points as the Suns won the quarter 38-32 and went on fourth down with a triple.
This is where things fell apart for the Bucks. The Suns continued to put pressure on the offensive end and hit 3-pointers, making 6 of 12 from long range. The Bucks went 1-for-9 in the fourth inning, scoring only 17 points, and Phoenix retreated.
Milwaukee shot well from deep going into the final frame, going 16-for-38.
Before Tuesday, Milwaukee had won seven straight home games against Phoenix since 2021, including the 2021 NBA Finals.
