On Tuesday night, the NFL saw an unprecedented move to break up a blockbuster trade deal. Since then, the fallout has brought many twists and turns.

The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of a trade deal with the Las Vegas Raiders for pass rusher Maxx Crosby. This trade would have sent two first-round picks to the Raiders in exchange for Crosby.

After the deal fell through, reports emerged that the Ravens canceled the deal because Crosby “failed” a physical. Crosby had previously had knee surgery, a fact every team knew while trading him.

Crosby’s agent, CJ LaBoy, approached X to set the record straight about his client’s health.

Maxx continues his recovery journey and, according to surgeon Dr. Neal El Attrache, is ahead of schedule if anything. Maxx is expected to return during the offseason program and will no doubt return to being the dominant game-breaker he has been over the past seven seasons.

His response not only raises questions about the “failed physical” report, but also sparks scrutiny into the way the Ravens conduct business. If a team misunderstands a contract or appears to back out of it, there is a risk that trust between agent and franchise will be damaged.
