Max Holloway may have lost his “BMF” title, but he’s determined his journey isn’t over yet.

Holloway made his first statement since losing a unanimous decision to Charles Oliveira in the UFC 326 headliner on Saturday in Las Vegas.

“Highest of the highs, lowest of the lows,” Holloway wrote on social media Tuesday. “Saturday night was not my night. I’m sorry to all my family, friends and fans who let me down. Shout out to Oliveira for doing his job. Every class loves him.

“There are no excuses here and there never will be. I’ve been here before I knew what I had to do to get back to where I want to be. We’re not done yet. See you at the top. #blessedexpress”

On the line was the iconic ‘BMF’ title, which Holloway had successfully defended once since winning it over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 in April 2024.

The Hawaiian was favored to defeat Oliveira 11 years after they first met in the Octagon, as Oliveira suffered neck and esophagus injuries in the first round and was unable to continue.

Instead, Holloway suffered his second loss in three fights, including a knockout loss to Ilya Topuria during his bid for the featherweight championship in October 2024.

The loss also ended Holloway’s chances of ever challenging for the UFC lightweight title. Holloway has not hinted who he will fight next.
