Epiroc has signed an agreement to acquire the business of Eventspec Proprietary, a provider of mining aftermarket solutions, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Eventspec specializes in the manufacture of drill rigs, mine trucks and haulage components, as well as offering rebuild, repair and related services.
The company, which employs approximately 120 people, mainly serves mining companies in South Africa.
Epiroc President and CEO Helena Hedblum said: “This acquisition will be a strong and strategic addition to our manufacturing capabilities and expand our portfolio of spare parts and related services in the growing and important African region and beyond.
“We look forward to welcoming the talented team at Eventspec to the Epiroc Group.”
This acquisition will be included in the equipment and services business area and recorded under the service revenue stream.
The transaction is expected to be finalized by the beginning of the third quarter of 2026 (Q3 2026), pending standard regulatory approvals.
It does not require disclosure under EU market abuse regulations.
Epirock, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, employs approximately 19,000 people worldwide and maintains a significant presence in South Africa.
The company develops equipment for surface and underground applications, and offers services from automation and digitization to electronic solutions.
In July 2025, Epiroc received an order from Sociedad Punta del Cober (Pocober) in Chile for a series of underground mine trucks and digital solutions.
The order, valued at Skr235m ($24.6m), is set to improve Pucobre’s productivity, cost-effectiveness and safety.
The contract included the supply of Minetruck MT65 S haulers for the Pucobre copper mines including Punta del Cobre, Granate and Mantos de Cobre.
