Randy Arozarena criticized Cal Raleigh for refusing to shake his hand at the WBC.

Nine days later, Cal Raleigh and Randy Arozarena will be wearing the same uniforms as their teammates at Seattle Mariners spring training camp.

Raleigh refused to shake Arozarena’s hand during the World Baseball Classic game between Mexico and the United States on March 9, making it clear that they were not teammates.

Arozarena reached out before getting to bat first in Mexico’s WBC Pool B match. Raleigh, a catcher for the U.S. national team, did not and appeared to say something behind his catcher’s mask.

After the game, Arozarena told reporters in Spanish that Raleigh said, “Nice to meet you,” and was named runner-up for American League MVP.

“He said to me, ‘Nice to meet you.’ He can shove that in his a—.” Arozarena said In Spanish.

The United States beat Mexico 5-3. The United States is 3-0 in pool play and Mexico is 2-1. If Mexico beats Team Italy on Wednesday, the two teams will likely meet in the qualifiers, so stay tuned.

If the conflict between Raleigh and Arozarena is not resolved at the WBC, the two will soon have plenty of time to sort out their differences during the Mariners’ spring training camp.
