Tron is joining the AAIF Governing Board to help support the adoption of Agentic AI

Justin Sun’s Tron Network has joined the Agentic AI Foundation to prepare and support the widespread adoption of AI agents.

In an announcement on Monday, the independent decentralized organization Tron (DAO) revealed that the Tron network has signed on as a member of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) and will serve on its governing board.

Tron DAO said that AI agents will be in high demand in the future, and therefore it will require collaboration and coordination to create systems that can “efficiently manage constant, low-volume, low-cost transactions at scale.”

“Interoperability frameworks are expected to play an important role in ensuring that AI agents can operate without creating fragmented ecosystems across platforms and services,” the DAO said.

Last month, Stripe CEO and co-founder Patrick Collison and co-founder John Collison said there was a significant infrastructure gap in blockchain and said significant improvements in scale would be required to meet this incoming demand.

“By supporting the development of open infrastructure through the Foundation, TRON DAO aims to contribute to shared standards that make AI agents easier to build, safer to operate and more accessible,” he added.

AAIF is managed by the Linux Foundation and is designed to advance the development of open source AI while helping to establish industry standards for governance, security, and interoperability. Tron joins the likes of Circle and JPMorgan in jumping on the AAIF.

Tron’s focus in 2026 is AI, says founder

Last month, Sun said that AI would “undoubtedly” be a key focus for the network this year, arguing that Tron’s speed, scalability, and low fees are ideal for hosting AI-powered transactions.

Sun noted that the network is working on building infrastructure and collaborating to support AI requirements. A recent example is AI Bank, a financial layer for AI agents created by AINFT, which first launched on Tron and BNB Chain in mid-February.

DeFiLlama data shows that Tron is currently in first place in terms of revenue generated by all blockchains in the last 24 hours, seven days and 30 days, with $1.01 million, $6.54 million and $25.58 million respectively.
