First three NFL free agent signings predicted for 2026

The NFL’s unofficial free agency window opens Monday with “legal tampering” scheduled to begin at 12 PM ET. Players whose deals have expired are free to begin negotiations where offers are available.

The first few free agent signings usually happen relatively quickly. The agent knows who might be interested in your talent and has likely discussed the scenario with you.

Willis worked closely with Matt LaFleur in Green Bay. From there, Willis became the hottest name in 2026 NFL free agency.

He started three games for the Packers in 2024 and 2025. He was Jordan Love’s primary backup and played exceptionally when called upon.

Willis was linked to the Miami Dolphins when Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley was hired by the Miami Dolphins for his first NFL head coaching gig. Mike, the other LaFleur brother, could provide much more comfort to Willis, who is also the offensive heart of the Shanahan tree.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson (91) celebrates a sack in the fourth quarter of an NFL Week 1 game between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025. The Bengals open the season with a 17-16 win over the Browns.

If there’s one area the Dallas Cowboys need to improve, it’s their defense. After trading Micah Parsons last year, the pass rush missed his presence.

The good news is that there are some good options on the NFL free agent market. One of them is former Cincinnati Bengals EDGE rusher Trey Hendrickson.

Hendrickson reportedly had a corporate interest in Jerry Jones. Hendrickson is still a highly productive pass rusher and could help revitalize the Cowboys’ defense.

The Indianapolis Colts had to choose between Daniel Jones and Alec Pierce at the NFL franchise tag deadline. They ultimately decided on Jones to close the deal for Pierce.

Pierce wants to test the free agent market to see what his value is. Reports previously suggested the New England Patriots were interested in his services.

After AJ Brown’s trade offer was reportedly rejected, the Patriots need to land the hottest free agent wide receiver in the NFL. Pierce’s big-play ability has made him one of this year’s most coveted NFL free agents.
