US-Israel-Iran War: Plumes of smoke rise as attacks hit the city during the US-Israel military campaign in Tehran, Iran. (AP Photo) At least two people, including an Indian national, were killed in Saudi Arabia on Sunday after a projectile fell on a residential area.
A dozen more people from India and Bangladesh were injured when the attack hit a compound in the central governorate of al-Kharj, the Saudi Civil Defense Directorate said in a statement on the X social media platform.
“A military ammunition fell on a residential site, causing two deaths and (12) injuries among residents of Al-Kharj governorate,” the civil defense agency said in Post X.

Detailing the attack, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense spokesperson said the military projectile landed in a residential area belonging to one of the maintenance and cleaning companies.
“The incident caused one death of an Indian national and 12 injuries, also of Indian and Bangladeshi nationality, in addition to material damage,” said the Saudi Civil Defense spokesperson.

The agency spokesperson said that “attempts to attack civilian objects constitute a clear violation of international humanitarian law and that approved procedures in such cases have been implemented.”

This comes as the war in West Asia between the United States, Israel and Iran widened after Tehran allegedly attacked civilian infrastructure as Bahrain accused the Islamic nation of attacking one of the desalination plants that are crucial to the Gulf nations’ drinking water.
Anger and fear grew in the region after hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks against several Gulf countries. Arab League chief Ahmed Abouel Gheit criticized Tehran for a “reckless policy” of attacking Arab countries.
The war, which began with the joint U.S.-Israel airstrike against Iran on Feb. 28 that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, has killed at least 1,230 people in Iran, at least 397 in Lebanon and at least 11 in Israel, according to officials. AP reported.
