Mandatory Credit: Michael McLoone-Imagn Image Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 27 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed nine boards to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 113-99 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Saturday night.
Ryan Rollins nearly added a triple-double for Milwaukee with 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Ousmane Dieng also scored 11 points with 8 rebounds and 9 dimes.
The Jazz fell for the eighth time in their last nine games. Keyonte George, who returned after missing Utah’s last game due to ‘ankle injury management’, led Utah with 22 points.
Brice Sensabaugh added 17 points and Kyle Filipowski had 14 points with 11 rebounds.
The Jazz struggled on the floor to start the game. Utah shot 5 of 25 from the floor, including 3 of 14 from deep, in the first 12 minutes. Milwaukee’s 36.8 percent shooting percentage from the field in the first looked strong by comparison, as the Bucks went on a 24-13 run to advance to the second.
Milwaukee also started the second strong, leading by 15 in the first and growing the lead to 11. Utah went on an 11-2 run to cut the deficit to two points, but the Bucks went into halftime down 51-44.
George led all scorers with 13 at the break while Antetokounmpo had 11.
Utah finished the first half strong and started the third the same. From the bottom of the second to the third inning, the Jazz came back up by one point with a 10-0 run.
After a tight remainder of the quarter, Milwaukee closed the third with a 9-2 sprint to take an 83-76 advantage heading into the fourth.
The Bucks’ superstar helped Milwaukee close out the game in the fourth, with Antetokounmpo scoring 10 points in the final frame and the Bucks outscoring Utah by seven points in the frame to close out the win.
Milwaukee held Utah to just 34.4 percent shooting from the floor and 24.5 percent from deep.
