Trump Claims Iran Bombed Own School in Minab Strike – RT World News

The US president’s assertion contradicts Western media investigations, which point to American responsibility

President Donald Trump has denied responsibility for a strike on an Iranian school that killed 175 people, most of them children, instead pointing to a faulty Iranian missile.

His statements contradict investigations by AP, CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post, which concluded – based on satellite imagery and other visual evidence – that the US destroyed a girls’ primary school in southern Iran’s Minab during a February 28 bombing of nearby Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps sites.

Trump said when asked on Saturday whether the US was responsible for the strike on the school. “In my opinion, based on what I saw, Iran did it.”

A reporter then asked US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, “Is that true … Iran did it?” Hegsate said. “We are investigating it.” Adding that “The only part that targets civilians is Iran.”

The US-Israeli massacre of Iranian school children cannot be whitewashed

Trump interjected, saying, “We think it was done by Iran, because they are, you know, very inaccurate with their munitions. They have no accuracy.”

Reuters quoted two US officials on Thursday as saying US military investigators believe US forces may have been responsible for the strike on the school in Minab. The outlet noted that no final conclusions have been reached as the investigation is ongoing.

The destruction of the school remains the deadliest single strike in the US-Israeli war on Iran, which began on February 28.

The United Nations condemned the attack “A grave attack on children, on education and on the future of the entire community” Emphasizing that “Citizens should never be treated as collateral.”
