Mandatory Credit: Maria Lysaker-Imagn Image Rashaun Agee had 26 points and 11 rebounds, hitting a 3-pointer to open the scoring and Texas A&M beat LSU 94-91 in the third overtime on Saturday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Rylan Griffen scored 24 points, Pop Isaacs had 18 and Ali Dibba added 12 for the Aggies (21-10, 11-7 Southeastern Conference).
Max MacKinnon scored 20 points, Jalen Reese had 17 points, Michael Nwoko had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Markel Sutton and Robert Miller III each had 12 points for the Tigers (15-16, 3-15).
Both teams hit two free throws in the third overtime to open the scoring, and Ruben Dominguez hit a 3-pointer for his only points, giving the Aggies a 90-87 lead.
Miller’s layup and Reece’s jumper gave LSU a one-point advantage before Agee’s 3-point play put the Aggies ahead 93-91. Diva made one of two free throws with 7 seconds left, giving LSU a chance to tie the game with a 3-pointer, but MacKinnon missed.
Isaacs opened the scoring with a layup in the second overtime, and MacKinnon tied the game with two free throws for LSU’s first points with 1:33 left. Mackinnon made a layup and the Tigers took an 83-81 lead with 1:04 left.
Marcus Hill converted a 3-point play for the only points of the game to give Texas A&M a one-point lead with 50 seconds left. Griffen made one free throw, but MacKinnon made two with 12 seconds left to force a third overtime.
The score was tied once and the lead changed for the fourth time in the first overtime when Agee’s 3-pointer gave the Aggies a two-point lead with 1:05 left. Reece’s jumper tied the score at 79 with six seconds left, and Griffen missed a jumper to force a second overtime period.
LSU took a nine-point lead early in the second half before Texas A&M took its first lead of the half at 61-60. Mackinnon’s layup tied the game at 70 with 38 seconds left in regulation. Both teams missed 3-pointers in the final minute.
