What is Tezos?
Tezos is an energy-efficient Layer 1 blockchain that uses a liquid Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism to power smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps).
Unlike traditional blockchains that require hard forks to update, Tezos has a self-governing model that allows the network to grow and improve seamlessly through community voting on the chain.

What is Tezos (XTZ) Staking?
Staking XTZ means participating in Tezos’ Squid Proof-of-Stake mechanism to ensure network security, support management and earn staking rewards. In Tezos, validators are called “bakers”.
You can contribute in two ways:

Bake bread: Manage your node to generate blocks and vote on proposals. It requires at least 6,000 XTZ and a technical setup that is best for professionals.

The delegation: Leave your XTZ to a trusted baker who will take care of your approval and voting. This option has no minimum requirements and is suitable for novice users.
When you authorize, your XTZ stays safe in your wallet. It can never be closed or moved. Your breadwinner only has the right to approve blocks and vote on your behalf. Rewards will be distributed proportionally based on your designated amount.

Stacking based on address
In the XTZ CoolWallet staking system, staking is based on the entire XTZ wallet address, not on individual amounts. This means that all XTZs located at that address will automatically participate in staking.
Flexible fund control
After staking, your XTZ will remain safely in your wallet and will not be locked or transferred. You can freely send or receive XTZ at any time. Rewards are calculated based on your balance in each reward period.
Prizes are distributed automatically
During the bidding period, rewards will be sent automatically and periodically to your affiliate address.

Reward calculations are based on the current XTZ balance at your address and automatically include pre-distributed rewards, creating a compounding effect.
Wake up
When you lose a bet, you simply cancel your team. Since all rewards have already been sent to your original address, you will keep both the main rewards and the reward you earned. No need for manual pickup.
How to start staking (submit address)
Step 1. Open the CoolWallet → app Wallet → To get → XTZ to access XTZ Contribution management page
Step 2. Touch contributionConfirm your Tezos address and validator of choice, then click Continue to continue
Step 3. Review the transaction details carefully, then verify the transaction. (CoolWallet Pro or CoolWallet Go users must have their cool wallet card ready for signature)
Once the verification is complete, your XTZ will be successfully staked (assigned to your Tezos wallet address) and staking rewards will start accumulating.
How to Check Staking Status

Since bonuses are sent automatically and periodically to the address you specify during the stacking period, you can also check History page to view incoming reward transactions when they are credited.
How to remove (delete representation)
Step 1. In Contribution management page, tap Cancellation requestthen select the wallet address you want to remove from representation.
Step 2. Carefully check the transaction details, then verify the transaction. (CoolWallet Pro or CoolWallet Go users must prepare their cold wallet card for signature).
Step 3. After the unstaking process is completed, the staking record will disappear from it Contribution management page

Q1. Can I transfer my XTZ while staking?
Yes. Your XTZ always stays in your wallet during staking and cannot be locked or transferred. You can freely transfer XTZ in or out of your wallet. However, your wagering rewards may vary depending on your wallet balance at the time the rewards are calculated.
Q2. What is the minimum amount to contribute to XTZ?
Since XTZ staking is based on your wallet address, there is no minimum staking amount. Please note that you need to keep a small amount of XTZ in your wallet to cover the on-chain transaction fees.
Q3. Can I remove XTZ at any time?
Yes. You can cancel your staking address at any time.
Q4. When are XTZ staking rewards distributed?
According to the Tezos operating protocol, the first rewards on the Tezos network will be locked for about 30 days. The first staking reward will be sent to the validator after the lock-in period. The timing of issuing rewards from the validator varies depending on its operating status. It usually takes between 0 and 14 days for the validator to send the rewards to the stacker. Therefore, you will receive the first rewards after 30 – 44 days. After your first rewards, every reward thereafter will be sent to your betting address every 2-3 days.

Yes. Rewards are automatically sent to the address you designate and included in your next reward calculation, creating a compounding effect.
Q6. How are staking rewards calculated?
The validator (baker) receives a portion of the total reward and the rest is distributed to the shareholders as an incentive in proportion to the amount deposited.
The amount of staking rewards depends on the network conditions, including the fixed supply in the network, transaction fees and blocking time. In addition, the validator’s revenue performance and other important factors also affect the rewards.
