Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies had a legendary moment at the World Baseball Classic (WBC). The Netherlands national team hit a walk-off three-run home run against Nicaragua and won 4-3.
Nicaragua came very close to winning its first title in WBC history. They took a 3-1 lead and got the first two outs very easily. Then, center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela, who plays for the Dutch Red Sox, hit a single to right. San Diego Padres shortstop Xander Bogaerts followed with a double to third base.
This led Albies to a 411-foot deep three-run home run off Nicaraguan right-hander Angel Obando. Netherlands won the match.
