Latest news from Lulu Group International: Amid the war between Iran and Israel, Lulu Group International has airlifted around 80,000 kg of fresh food to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from India. The shipments arrived Saturday morning on cargo flights operated by Etihad Airways. The measure aims to maintain food supply in the country during the current situation in the Middle East.
On Wednesday, the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism said essential products remain available in reassuring quantities across the emirates, and supply chains are functioning normally.
“The Ministry of Economy and Tourism affirms that the country’s strategic reserves are sufficient to meet various needs and that essential products are available in reassuring quantities throughout the Emirates, with supply chains functioning normally,” he said.
Lulu Group produces airlift in India
According to Gulf News, the Etihad Airways cargo flight carried around 12,000 parcels of fresh produce from India to Abu Dhabi. The shipment is part of Lulu Group’s broader effort to bolster supply chains in the UAE, the report said.
“Additional cargo shipments are already being arranged for the coming days to maintain stock levels at its stores in the country,” Lulu said in a statement to Gulf News.
Earlier, the retailer also arranged a cargo shipment of around 80 tonnes of meat from New Delhi. More shipments are being arranged from several Indian cities, including Mumbai and Bengaluru, the report said.
On March 3, Lulu Retail Holdings PLS said its operations in the UAE are normal, adding that there have been no disruptions to its supply chain or store operations.

“In recent days, to ensure uninterrupted supply, Lulu has added additional transport routes into its network. As such, no risks to product availability or stock levels are currently anticipated. The company’s extensive presence in multiple GCC markets supports operational continuity and flexibility,” it said in a statement.
