The Miami Heretics swept G2 Minnesota 3-0 on Friday in Week 4, breaking a five-way tie in the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major qualifiers.
As a result, Heretics and G2 leave with a 3-3 record, level with the Riyadh Falcons, Toronto KOI, and Carolina Royal Ravens.
In other games of the day, the Vancouver Surge beat Cloud9 New York 3-1, while FaZe Vegas won 3-2 against the Los Angeles Thieves.
Twelve Call of Duty League teams are competing in a full qualifying round robin to determine seeding for the season’s second major, which will be held March 27-29 in Marston Green, England, as part of the DreamHack Birmingham event.
The top six teams from the qualifiers will advance directly to the Stage 2 Major Playoffs, while teams ranked 7th-10th will advance to the play-in round.
The Stage 2 Major Champion will receive $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points, while the runner-up will receive $90,000 and 75 CDL points.
On Friday, Miami defeated Minnesota 250-224 at Scar Hardpoint, 6-5 at Raid Search and Destroy, and 6-3 at Scar Overload.
Spain’s Diego “SupeR” Escudero leads the Heretics with 75 kills and a +27 kill-death differential. American Judge “Estreal” McMillan edged out G2 with 69 kills and a +9 KD differential.
Vancouver came out on top with a 250-203 win at Scar Hardpoint and a 6-1 rout at Den Search and Destroy. Cloud9 used Scar Overload before Surge closed out the series with a 250-122 decision over Den Hardpoint.
America’s Thomas “TJHaLy” Haly led the surge with 92 kills and a +22 KD differential. Puerto Rico’s Jonathan “Nejra” Pabo’n had 90 kills and a +19 KD differential for Cloud9.
Vegas started with a 250-243 win at Den Hardpoint before Los Angeles took on Den Search and Destroy 6-4 and Scar Overload 6-3. FaZe rebounded to take Blackheart Hardpoint 250-164 and Scar Search and Destroy 6-1.
USA’s Chris “Simp” Lehr powered Vegas with 97 kills and a +7 KD differential. Another American player, Jeremiah “Nium” Harrison, topped the Thieves with 97 kills and a +15 KD differential.
